Students in Le Symphonique have had many successes in their piano, flute and theory examinations in the past. We have had many excellent results (distinctions/honours/high honours) in Guildhall school of music and drama (before GSMD merged with Trinity college, London)/ABRSM/trinity college examinations, as well as Exhibition awards (grade 8) from trinity college London.
Before Le Symphonique was formed, the Principal, Ms LEE, taught a German girl by the name of Anne-Katrina Borzutzki, since a beginner, for 5 years. her father was working as an expatriate in Malaysia, and after 2 years the family returned to Hamburg, Germany. but a few months later, Dr Borzutzki brought his daughter and wife back to Malaysia so that Anne-Katrina could continue music lessons with Ms LEE.
He mentioned that he could not find anyone in Germany to cultivate his daughter’s musical skills and knowledge, and that Ms LEE is the only one he knew, who could do so. Many teachers “tell” the students what to do, but not “teach” the student. Dr Borzutzki went back to hamburg to work, leaving his wife and daughter in Malaysia for the next 3 years. During Anne-Katrina’s 4th year of piano studies with Ms LEE, she sat for her ATCL performance examination and obtained an honors result. 6 months later, she enrolled for LGSM recital exam and passed it too.
